LZ 1

First Zeppelin

The first Zeppelin airship LZ 1 made its maiden flight on the 2nd of July 1900. It was only 18 minutes in the air. Two further flights took place on the 17th and the 21st of October 1900, then the LZ 1 was broken up due to a lack of money. Nevertheless with these first test flights Graf Zeppelin 's dream to build a controllable aircraft started to become true.
